Trip to the mother

Trip to the Mother. Hilbre Island and her secrets

The last few weeks have been interesting in the development of the project.

I’ve been working hard on developing the project, discovering new techniques and playing with them. It’s resulted in some new works that may or may not become part of the exhibition in the end but this project is evolving all the time and I’m enjoying the journey it is taking me on.

The allure of the islands is something anyone could be easily drawn to and I don't need much of an excuse to take off my shoes and take the pilgrimage over to the islands. Especially when the sun is out, the water is beginning to warm up and the chance to spend some quality time with friends in the solitude of the islands is on offer.

Today was one of those days and I took an impromptu trip over to the mother with some friends with no intention to film or produce but it did result in some opportunity to take some photos and footage of some secret places.

Hilbre is full of hidden little secrets and gems if you choose to look closer. You can, see and smell the ancient history surrounding the islands as soon as you start the walk out from West Kirby.
